Shoe Baby by Joyce Dunbar – Favorite, very fun and entertaining book – I heard my son quoting it while he was playing

Fire Truck by Peter Sis – Almost Favorite, all boys like fire trucks

Where is P.B. Bear Going by Lee Davis – Favorite, my son really liked this book about a bear…I thought it was a little repetitive so just made up my own words based on the pictures and we were both happy

Weekly Children’s Book Review

I didn’t go to the library last week due to our Christmas Vacation, so this is a review for the books we checked out 2 weeks ago.

Uncles and antlers by Lisa Wheeler – OK Favorite, I liked the general idea

antlers.jpg

Santa Claus by Laura Dollin – OK Favorite, not as good as I wanted

Let’s go, Froggy! by Jonathan London – Almost Favorite, we’ve gotten a Froggy Soccer book that was better than this one, but this was still a good one for kids

Some things go together by Charlotte Zolotow – Almost Favorite, a very cute book for parent and child

I love you, Mister Bear by Sylvie Wickstrom – Favorite, a very easy read about a girl who loves her teddy bear

bear1.jpg

Feed Matisse’s fish by Julie Appel – Almost Favorite, great book to help teach your kids about art

Who took the farmer’s hat? by Joan M. Lexau – OK Favorite

The wheels on the race car by Alex Zane – OK Favorite, my son only liked it a little bit because he likes the “wheels on the bus” song – this wasn’t a good change to the song, for one thing “race car” is way longer to say than “bus”

Weekly Children’s Book Review

Arthur, It’s only Rock ‘n’ Roll by Marc Brown – OK Favorite, this Arthur book seemed way longer than the other ones…I had to hide it because I didn’t want to read it again

Belly Button Book! by Sandra Boynton – Favorite, we’ve checked this out a few times…very funny book for little kids obsessed with their belly buttons

star.jpg

Miss Mouse’s Day by Jan Ormerod – Almost Favorite, I didn’t enjoy reading this one, but my son seemed to like it

The Farmer in the Dell by John O’Brien – Favorite, my son really liked this because I sang it instead of just reading it – we also have a toy that plays the “Farmer in the Dell” song so he was able to put pictures with the song and he loves music!

Baby Day by Susan Heyboer O’Keefe – OK Favorite, perhaps better suited for a baby/1 year old

The Chicken Sisters by Laura Joffe Numeroff – OK Favorite, kind of a strange book and a little long

If you take a mouse to the Movies by Laura Joffe Numeroff – Favorite, another book we’ve had before, but I got it since it involves Christmas

Ten Silly Dogs: a Countdown Story by Lisa Flather – Almost Favorite, dogs are always fun for little boys

dogs.jpg

Dilly Duckling by Claire Freedman – OK Favorite, nice “touch and feel” feathers but I don’t think I ever finished reading the whole book
